An Inside Look at the Learjet 70

Learjet 70

In 2012, Bombardier announced development of a new light
business jet
. The Learjet 70 received FAA Certification by 2013 and flew its first flight in 2014. The Learjet 70 is an enhanced version of the Learjet 40, offering notable upgrades to its predecessor. Learjets have always been synonymous with best-in-class business jets, so it is no surprise the Learjet 70 continues to fulfill that legacy.

The Learjet 70’s performance capabilities are quite impressive. With a range of 2371 statute miles and the capability to reach speeds of 534 mph, this jet can travel to more destinations without a fuel stop.
Another impressive feature of this aircraft is its ability to quickly reach high altitudes above the weather, offering a smoother flying experience for passengers. With precise landing gear, this jet can comfortably handle shorter runways with ease. Powerful engines and a new winglet design are just a few examples of advancements that make the Learjet 70 a great choice for charter.

Learjet 70 interior

The cabin of the Learjet 70 measures 17′ 8″ in length, 4′ 11″ in height, and 5′ 1″ in width. This aircraft comfortably seats 6-7
passengers, has stunning interior details and offers all of the
technology needed to conduct business in the sky.  The wider cabin makes for a more relaxing flight with ample legroom to stretch out and relax. Executive tables and pop-up monitors in the forward club section offer passengers a comfortable work environment. In
addition, the Learjet 70 has a redesigned galley with more work and storage space for meal service. There is also an aft lavatory on board with a sink and vanity mirror. The Learjet 70 has an external baggage compartment that provides 50 cubic feet of baggage space and
another 15 cubic feet of internal storage. The Learjet 70 truly
embodies the next generation of light business jets.

Learjet 70

Pilots are equally as impressed with the Learjet 70. According to Bombardier, “The Bombardier Learjet 70 business jet offers industry leading avionics that ensure superior value and a superlative pilot
experience in all phases of flight. The result is a spacious, well-organized setting for maximum pilot productivity, safety, and convenience. Everything pilots need to know while flying – data, instruments, systems, avionics functions, maps, and weather – is in view and at their fingertips.”

Experience Luxury in the Learjet 45

Learjet45

The Bombardier Learjet 45 was first introduced at the US National Business Aircraft Association’s annual convention in 1992, and the first consumer aircraft was delivered in 1998. The Learjet 45 was designed to replace the Learjet 35 and offers the classic Learjet
layout with enhanced and improved design features. In 2004, the Learjet 45 evolved into the Learjet 45XR which offers an upgraded engine and improved climbing performance.

The Learjet 45, and newer Learjet 45XR, are categorized within the Light Jet class, but offer many of the features and benefits found in Midsize Jets. When looking at performance, the Learjet 45 excels in both high and low speed handling, runway performance and fuel
efficiency. On the interior, the Learjet 45 was designed to offer the most passenger space possible for a light jet.

Learjet 45 Interior

The Learjet 45’s cabin can accommodate 8 passengers and a flightcrew of two. The additional legroom, galley storage, full width aft restroom, and wider than average seats offer passengers a
comfortable and practical experience. This jet also offers work
tables that fold down from the walls and a quiet, temperature
controlled cabin, ideal for working from the air. The Learjet 45 has an external baggage compartment that provides 50 cubic feet of baggage space and another 15 cubic feet of internal storage. The Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics suite comes standard on the
Learjet 45XR and includes a 3-D approach navigation system.

When comparing the cruise performance, the Learjet 45 is top in its class. It can cruise at speeds of 465 mph and is able to fly 1,824
nautical miles nonstop. This jet also offers the most advanced anti-ice system of any light or midsize jet, can complete a 1,000
nautical mile trip in just over 2 hours, and the 904-gallon fuel system can be filled rapidly in about 10 minutes, offering very quick
turnaround. The Learjet 45 really shines at cruise altitude and offers exceptional handling capabilities, as well as fuel economy. The
Learjet 45 and Learjet 45XR are great options for anyone looking for a cost-effective light jet that offers superior performance.

Cheers for the Citation Bravo

Citation Bravo

The Cessna Citation Bravo was first certified in 1996 as an upgrade to the best-selling Citation II. With a number of improved features, this light jet is a favorite among customers looking for convenience and comfort.

The Citation Bravo has a long range when compared to other light jets, able to travel 1484 statute miles non-stop, easily flying from New York to Miami for example. The Bravo cruises at average speeds of 466 mph and offers impressive short runway capabilities, allowing it to be chartered in and out of smaller airports closer to your destination. While its costs are similar to the Citation II, it
surpasses it significantly in performance, using far less fuel per hour. The heightened performance of the Citation Bravo is largely due to the Pratt & Whitney turbofan engines and the Bravo was the first light jet to be equipped with them. New landing gear also makes landings much smoother than comparable jets, even on uneven pavement.

Citation Bravo

In terms of comfort, the Citation Bravo is at the top of its class. The engineers designed the Bravo to have a quiet cabin with insulation and isolated interior shell to eliminate engine noise, while a seal on the cabin door eliminates wind noise. The Bravo can accommodate seven passengers with club seating, and has a partial galley as well as a lavatory on board. The cabin measures 15′ 10″ in length, 4′ 9″ in height and 4′ 10″ in width. The baggage space in the Citation Bravo is generous at 78 cubic feet and can hold several suitcases and gold bags. There is also additional storage in drawers under the seats.

Citation Bravos are well liked among pilots because they are an easy jet to fly and can be flown solo. Pre-flight, service and
maintenance procedures were also designed to aid the flight crew, while the cockpit is equipped with systems to relay traffic
information, radar to watch the weather and digital maps. Between the unmatched operating costs and passenger comforts, it is easy to see why the Citation Bravo is a passenger and pilot favorite.

The Citation CJ4: An Elite Light Jet

Citation Jet 4 Exterior

Photos courtesy of Cessna at cessna.txtav.com

The Cessna Citation Jet 4 is a single-pilot light jet, taking its first flight in May of 2008.  According to Cessna, “the CJ4 has added speed, range and cabin size over its predecessor (Citation Jet 3) without incurring midsize jet operating costs.” While both the CJ2 and CJ3 will remain in production and available for charter, the CJ4 offers many pilot and passenger-friendly enhancements.

The Citation Jet 4 (CJ4) was designed for versatility, able to travel 2491 statute miles before needing a fuel stop. The CJ4 cruises at
average speeds of 510 mph and like the CJ3, it offers impressive short runway capabilities, allowing it to be chartered in and out of smaller airports getting passengers closer to their destination. The CJ4 differs most significantly from previous Citation Jets in its swept wing design which was modeled after the Citation Sovereign.

Citation Jet 4 Interior

The CJ4 is not only fuel-efficient, it offers single-point refueling
capabilities and can easily fly from New York to Phoenix.  The CJ4 is powered by two Williams International FJ44-4A engines each
offering 3,621 pounds of thrust. When designing the CJ4, Cessna’s engineers relocated the main landing gear inboard, thus reducing the track.  A narrower track significantly improves ground handling of the aircraft.  Cessna also prides itself on their jets’ landing gear. “The same long-stroke, trailing-link landing gear common to all CJs guarantees the softest landings and smooth taxiing.”

Citation Jet 4 Exterior

The CJ4’s cabin sits seven passengers comfortably, with two seats for the crew. As far as cabin amenities, the CJ4 has everything you need and more. “Six deep-cushioned, wide leather seats track in three directions and can be configured to fully recline for long,
comfortable trips. Each features a patented retractable armrest with available lumbar support and seat-side media docks.” The cabin offers WiFi, temperature control, and the highly regarded Rockwell Collins Venue™ High-Definition Integrated Cabin Management
System.

The CJ4’s lavatory is unique because it is externally serviceable. This aircraft also has a small refreshment center and retractable tables, perfect for conducting business or for personal entertainment
purposes. The cabin measures 17′ 4″ in length, 4′ 9″ in height and 4′ 10″ in width. The external baggage space in the Citation Jet 4 is
generous at 77 cubic feet and can hold several pieces of luggage.

CJ4s are well liked by passengers and pilots alike for their
reputation of superior performance, range and speed.

To request a CJ4 for your next trip, please contact us. We would be happy to provide you with a flight quote.

Understanding Hourly Rates

Understanding ambiguous membership fees

In order to operate a national jet charter program with a fixed hourly rate structure, you must devise an hourly rate that can provide a profitable operation, which accounts for the use of all the
members/card holders. For example, customers based in Seattle, WA, Santa Fe, NM, or Birmingham, AL (where there are not as many private fliers) would pay the same rate as someone who lives in the Northeast, Midwest or Florida where there are more private fliers.

In constructing an hourly rate, these private aviation companies have to forecast what a customer might do, not what they actually do. In other words, if you live in an area with heavier traffic, you
subsidize the travel of those who live in less populated areas.

Unfortunately, upfront memberships with fixed hourly rate
programs are not profitable and the fixed hourly rates associated with them have plenty of gray areas in which to bill you more hours than needed.

How do membership programs do this?

1. Membership programs bill you for actual flight time. This may sound like a great idea, but when you are vectored around for weather, or experience headwinds, you are billed for more hours. Occasionally, you may win with an extreme tail wind, but not too
often. Another little known secret is that there is NO way to verify accurate billing. Even the FAA flight feeds are inaccurate and
operators calculate flight time entirely differently than how
customers are billed. The customer books and flies and the cost is debited directly from their account. The customer doesn’t see the actual cost until well after the trip. Most times the person who is
responsible for payment of the trip did not fly on the aircraft, so they have no idea if the information is accurate. The result is a seemingly low hourly rate, compensated by a higher flight time.

2. Membership programs add fuel surcharges into their billing. Most jet cards or programs discovered the fuel surcharge as a convenient way to add to the cost of a flight. They did this by adding the “fuel surcharge” to the “actual flight time” to increase company
profitability. There was no relationship between fuel costs and the surcharge. Over time customers got wise to this because fuel
surcharges never went away, even when prices went down. Today, the providers of the Jet Cards now include the fuel surcharges in the hourly rate, and many will fix the prices for the year. However, there are huge disparities between the cost of jet fuel throughout the United States. In an inverse relationship to hourly rates, people who live in areas with low fuel costs subsidize those in areas with high fuel costs.

The Deposit or Pre-Payment

Each card program requires a deposit in order for you to “lock in” the previously discussed “hourly rate”. They need your funds to run their operation. These funds go towards advertising and sales
commissions, and the lump sum deposits go a long way towards
easing cash flow. It is not free to put your company name on a
professional golfer’s hat. The large sum of deposits help to cover up operational losses but sooner or later, the bills come due. These
programs are either sold (if there is enough cash on hand to make it attractive to another “investor”) or the company is forced to fold. Many have no choice but to fold and there are no refunds. We are very pleased to tell you that there is a better alternative.

What do we do? How does our service benefit our customers?

1. We will never ask you to pay a deposit to access our service. With FlyPrivate, you will pay as you fly for each trip. You may use 25 or 50 hours, or you may go over. Our service allows you to control the use and flow of your capital.

2. We quote by the trip, not by the hour. At FlyPrivate, we offer all-inclusive “fixed pricing”, pre-trip. You know what you’re paying for and how much you will be spending before the trip, not after. There are no additional flight charges after the fact. You will also benefit from our round trip pricing, which often makes your trip more cost effective. Most jet cards have done away with round trip pricing and bill at one-way costs all the time.

3. At FlyPrivate, we also offer multiple aircraft options on each trip. Choose from Turboprops, VLJs, Light, Midsize, Super Midsize, and Heavy jets. You can use any class of jet anytime, without
complicated interchanges or other arrangements having to be made.

4. You also benefit from the leverage we employ on behalf of our customers. For 12 years we have worked with hundreds of FAA safety audited operators and their aircraft. These relationships
provide exceptional opportunities for all of our customers.

Land Closer to Your Destination in the Citation Jet 2

Citation Jet 2

Cessna’s Citation Jet 2 was flown for the first time in 2000 as an
upgrade to beloved Citation Jet 1. It is the second model in the
Citation Jet line. With a number of enhancements, this light jet is a perfect choice for private fliers looking for an aircraft with
versatility, high-performance, and lower operating costs.

The Citation Jet 2 (CJ2) was designed to be easily flown with a single pilot, able to travel 1237+ statute miles before needing a fuel stop. This CJ2 is also noted for its fuel efficiency due in large part to the two Williams/Rolls-Royce FJ44-2C turbofan engines, with 400+ lbs. more thrust than the Citation CJ1 at takeoff. The CJ2 cruises at
average speeds of 475 mph and offers best-in-class runway
capabilities, allowing it to takeoff and land at smaller airports with ease, getting you closer to your destination in less time.

Another major improvement to the CJ2 is the transition from the straight wing design of the CJ1 to a laminar flow wing. The switch to the laminar flow wings with the stretched wingspan greatly
improved overall lift-to-drag performance.

CJ2 Interior

The CJ2’s cabin is also more spacious than its predecessor, stretched 33 additional inches. The cabin sits six passengers comfortably at a total volume of 248 cubic feet. The cabin is 50 cubic feet larger than the cabin of the CJ1 and can generally accommodate one more
passenger.

The cabin measures 13′ 7″ in length, 4′ 10″ in height and 4′ 10″ in width. The external baggage space in the Citation Jet 2 is generous at 70 cubic feet and can hold several pieces of luggage with an
additional 4 cubic feet of baggage space on the interior. The CJ2 also has a small galley and lavatory on board.

CJ2 Exterior

The Citation Jet 2 avionics include: A Flight Management System, Full Glass Cockpit Technology, Dual GPS Navigation, Traffic Collision Avoidance System, and a Ground Proximity Warning System.

CJ2 Interior

CJ2s are a light jet favorite of passengers and pilots alike for their fuel performance, runway capabilities, and affordability.

Our management team is always at your service. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like us to quote your next trip.

Citation V: Performance, Baggage, Seating

Citation Ultra Interior

A favorite in the light jet and Cessna family, the Citation V is
modeled after the Citation SII with improved features such as a longer fuselage, more powerful engines and increased cabin and baggage space.

When it comes to light jets, the Citation V is known for its reliability, performance and cabin accommodations. This jet is able to take off and land on shorter runways than most light jets, making it a more spacious alternative to turboprops and very light jets with short
runway capabilities.

The Citation V is a popular medium-range business jet for many
reasons. The cabin measures 17.4 feet long, 4.8 feet in height and 4.9 feet in length. The engineers used the extra cabin space to offer passengers 360 degree, extra-wide rotating seats and additional baggage space both internal and external. Able to carry several
suitcases and golf bags, the Citation V is perfect for short trips. It
offers unique passengers comforts for a light jet including: two-zone temperature control and a ventilation system used to eliminate drafts within the cabin. Triple-glazed windows and additional
soundproofing make this jet one of the quietest light jets available and ideal for both business and personal trips.

The typical Citation V configuration can fit 7-9 passengers
comfortably. This jet also offers an enclosed lavatory and a first-class refreshment center comes standard.

Citation V Exterior

The Citation V is also impressive to both passengers and pilots due to its performance features. The cockpit offers 360 degree
visibility. The twin Pratt & Whitney turbofan engines provide an impressive 2,900 lbs. of thrust and can maintain a cruising speed of 457 mph at a range of 1404 statute miles.

The Citation V popularity has also extended to several military
operations around the world largely due to the impressive comfort features, safety rating and reliability. The Citation V continues to be one of the most sought after private jets on the market today.

To request a Citation V for your next trip, please contact us. We would be happy to provide you with a flight quote.
